KARACHI: Almost any actor who has starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan is a fan of his acting skills. Seems like Pakistani actor Mahira Khan has also become part of that list after working with the Bollywood legend in their upcoming film, Raees.

The Humsafar star will be playing Shah Rukh’s wife in the upcoming film. “I got to learn a lot by working alongside Shah Rukh Khan and I realised that when I was shooting for Ho Mann Jahaan. Even Asim Raza (director) was surprised by the improvement in my acting skills,” Mahira told NDTV.

The actor added that she tried to give her best while filming her scenes opposite the Bollywood actor but for all her efforts she was not able to do as good as Shah Rukh himself “The fact that I am making my Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan is a big deal for me. I don’t know how it is for Indian actors to act alongside him but it was a different experience for me.”

Commenting on the professionalism in Bollywood she stated that all crew members exactly know what they have to do on the set. Even the director ensures that he has done all his necessary homework before he comes on set.

“While filming, the difference between senior and junior is eliminated and everyone performs their responsibilities to the utmost of their abilities,” she added.

To a question about her journey as a film and television actor so far, she remarked that having started her career in Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol and later going on to star in television serials she found a lot of similarities between the two mediums.

“There are quite a few similarities between the two mediums; the only difference is that on television the actor comes once a week whereas in a movie an artiste only has two hours to make an impact on the viewer,” she noted.

These days Mahira is doing the rounds promoting her soon to be released film Bin Roye which also stars Humayun Saeed. Based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s popular novel Bin Roye, Mahira shared how she thought Bin Roye as a novel was better than Humsafar.
