The paramilitary soldiers produced Khan Muhammad Chachar, Rana Shahid and Kamran Abbasi in the chamber of an ATC judge amid tight security. They said they had picked up the suspects within the jurisdiction of Boat Basin police station on receiving credible information about their involvement in offences related to targeted killing, kidnapping and extortion punishable under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
The suspects were being detained for three months under Section 11EEEE (1) of the anti-terrorism act (ATA) for questioning and they were produced before the court along with relevant records for the information of court as required under Section 11 EEEE (3) of ATA, they added.

Meanwhile, the Rangers officials also produced two more detainees, said to be political workers, before the same court and informed it about their three months detention for interrogation.
The legal team of paramilitary force informed the court that suspects, Junaid alias K2 and Naeem Siddiqui, were picked up within the jurisdictions of Artillery Maidan and Preedy police stations. The Rangers had credible information about their involvement in the offences of terrorism which came within the ambit of the ATA.
