Google has launched a website for Muslims called 'My Ramadan Companion' offering information, especially to those away from home, in observing the month with ease.

My Ramadan Companion includes sunrise and sunset timings of the relevant location as well as listings for the closest mosques and charity Iftars, traffic information as well as Ramazan recipes and videos.

It also offers recommendations for apps that alert you to wake up for Sehri and design greeting cards to share with friends and family during Ramazan. It helps users find local halal restaurants and draws all content Google finds relevant to Ramazan.

Google revealed on its blog that around 200 million Muslims living away from family share and connect with their loved ones through technology and use Google applications to plan their month and that more than a billion people will be observing the Holy month of Ramazan this year.

“Today, living more than 1,900 miles away from my family, I rely on technology to get close with them during Ramadan. Whether it’s sharing moments on Hangouts, my sister sending me pictures of the Iftar spread of the day, or receiving an avalanche of recipes from my mother for me to save and try out, technology helps us stay connected and celebrate Ramazan together even when away. “
