The Earthquake Rehabilitation Reconstruction Authority (ERRA) will construct a small dam in Dhrake, Rawalakot at a cost of Rs500 million for local consumption.
The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by ERRA Deputy Chairman Maj Gen Muhammad Azeem Asif, who said the perennial shortage of potable water in Rawalakot should be redressed on a priority and directed concerned authorities to finalise all required formalities to start the dam’s construction immediately, said a press release.
Project Director Misbah Chohan said the non-execution of the already proposed Singola and Chak Dhamni water supply schemes due to local disputes led to the Dhrake dam project.
