The IED was planted in a wheelbarrow and went-off as officials were busy searching luggage the gate, Subaidar Azghar Shinwari, from the border post in Torkham, told The Express Tribune.
As a result, five people, including two khasadar officials, sustained injuries and were shifted to the Landikotal hospital, where one of them, a passer-by, succumbed to his injuries, said the official.
The border was closed for a few hours after the incident but reopened late under tight security.
Just yesterday, a blast in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area left two police officials dead and five others injured.

The responsibility of the Peshawar attack was claimed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
