PESHAWAR: Basic training of probation officers from across K-P came to an end on Thursday. The ten-day training was held in the provincial capital from June 2 to June 11. Twelve probation officers attended the training. Separate sessions were organised for police officers, prosecutors as well as members of civil society organisations (CSO). The training included real-life simulations where the group learned techniques to deal with offenders. Participants also developed persuasive social investigation skills so as to present and argue effectively in court. In addition, they learned rules and regulations about dealing with women and juvenile delinquents. The training was organised in partnership with the Directorate of Reclamation and Probation, K-P. Aitebaar, a four-year foreign funded program, organised the training.
