TURBAT: The people of Pakistan were hopeful about the new budget and about the prime minister announcing a people-friendly budget but the poor people’s hopes have been dashed.
The new budget has further burdened the poor and the middle classes with increased amounts of indirect taxes. For the ordinary people, it has become difficult to afford basic necessities such as education, healthcare and electricity and even food and shelter. On behalf of the poor, I request the prime minister to see the plight of ordinary Pakistanis by cancelling the new budget and instead introduce a special and people-friendly budget.
