KARACHI:

According to Roznama Express, actor Moammar Rana has managed to rope in the mercurial fast bowler for an item number in his directorial debut, Sikander, which will be filmed in Lahore after Eid.
When approached to confirm the news, Mehnaz Moammar, co-producer of the film, said, “We will be organising a press conference in which we shall be revealing the cast for the film.” Moammar refused to comment on speculations regarding whether or not the former cricketer nicknamed as the ‘Rawalpindi Express’ would be featuring in an item number.
If true, this would not be the first time that Shoaib Akhtar has been approached to star in a film. The cricketer had earlier been offered to play the role of antihero, Daya, in 2006 for the Bollywood film Gangster, which he declined.

Despite repeated attempts, Shoaib Akhter was not available to comment on this matter. Interestingly enough, the cricketer has been hanging out with Rana in public gatherings and has encouraging people to support Rana’s film venture.
Sikander, which is slated to release later this year, is being produced by Moammar Rana’s home production, THOR (The House of Rana). Since making his debut as an actor, Rana has gone on to work extensively on both the silver and small screen.
