G-b elections: PML-N ahead of rivals with 11 seats

PPP, PTI and MWM trail behind

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has secured 11 seats in Monday’s Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) elections, according to the unofficial results.



Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) are trailing behind


In GBLA-II Gilgit, regional PML-N president Hafeezur Rahman bagged 10,969 votes, followed by PPP’s Jamil Ahmed with 5,753. PTI’s Fatehullah bagged slightly more than 1,000.


In GBLA-I Gilgit, 6,835 votes put PML-N’s Jafarullah ahead of PPP’s Amjad Hussain, who secured 5,753.


In GBLA-III Gilgit, PML-N’s Dr Muhammad Iqbal bagged 7,525 votes, while PPP’s Aftab Haider secured 2,900.


In GBLA-VI Hunza, PML-N’s Mir Ghazanfar was ahead of his rivals with 6,384 votes. In GBLA-XII Skardu, PPP’s Imran Nadeem bagged 10,465 votes, while PML-N’s Raja Azam secured 9,350.
