Progressive Initiatives: PPP will involve youth in LG elections

Besides the local government elections, the meeting also discussed development schemes in the Dadu district

KARACHI: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party, has said that the party will field workers and youth in the next local government elections in Sindh and Punjab and asked them to prepare for the great responsibility to lead from the grassroots. He made these statements while co-chairing a meeting of elected representatives and office-bearers of the PPP from Dadu district at Bilawal House on Monday with former president and PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari. Besides the local government elections, the meeting also discussed development schemes in the Dadu district. PPP leadership said that the PPP has contested previous elections as an opposition party and denied having ever used the police or other administrative tools in any elections.
