Mining in Fata: ‘Protect interests of investors, mine owners’

The governor said investors should not be discouraged and it is the their responsibility to facilitate businesses

Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan directed the FATA Secretariat to implement mining regulations and ensure the interests of investors and mine owners are protected. According to a handout issued on Monday, FATA Mining Development Association members called on the governor.


Mehtab said investors should not be discouraged and it is the government’s responsibility to facilitate business activity. He advised association members to strengthen their liaison with political administrations and avoid confrontation.


“Unwarranted mining should be stopped and awareness regarding quarrying hazards is critical,” the notification quoted him as saying. Association president Malik Dawood Khan, Hamid Khan, Alam Khan and others were present on the occasion.
