Technology and quality: Auto manufacturers agree to share expertise

Three leading cars manufactures have agreed to share their technical and quality standards in order to ensure vehicle quality, prices and safety of consumers. 

The agreement was reached in a joint meeting among the Engineering Development Board (EDB), Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQA) and members of automobile industry under the chairmanship of EDB Chief Executive officer Tariq Ejaz and National Standards Committee (Automobile division) Chairperson Dr Omm-e-Hani.


Representatives of leading automobile companies termed the initiative as a positive step and unanimously agreed to submit the standards they comply with EDB and PSQCA by June 10.  A technical committee to be participated by representatives of automobile industry, EDB and PSQCA was set up to start work.
