JF-17 programme a symbol of Pak-China friendship: China Aviation Industry

Published: June 6, 2015

Chairman Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Lin Zuoming assured his all-out support to enhance the capabilities of JF-17 aircraft, Radio Pakistan reported.

Chief of Air Staff Marshal Sohail Aman, during his visit to the Headquarters of Aviation Industry Corporation of China, expressed his satisfaction over the JF-17 programme.

The programme was also deemed by the marshal as a symbol of the Pak-China friendship.

It was announced earlier during the year that China would deliver another fifty JF-17 Thunder fighters to Pakistan over a period of three years.

During a recent visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Pakistan, it was also asserted by both sides that the jets were a symbol of friendship.

The close friendship has come under scrutiny by India who have termed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) ‘unacceptable’.

This vocal opposition lends credence to Islamabad’s claims that New Delhi is fomenting unrest in Balochistan in a bid to sabotage the project described as ‘game changer’ for the region.

Why are you buying these from China – you already purchased the mfg rights and invested heavily in production plant. Recommend

Because we want to export the versions being produced in Pakistan, get it? Let China supply ones we need to fulfill air force needs. In addition we need to phase out old fighters and production capacity in Pakistan is limited.Recommend

Sounds great – except that you don’t have any export orders. Further – anyone interested in this plane is going to buy it from China rather than Pakistan. Your buying these planes from China for the same reasons your buying submarines from China …. they told you to.Recommend

It is a win win situation for both sides. china make junk untested planes that even their own air force don’t use, pakistan pays $$ and tests the planes by bombing their own people in FATA.Recommend

Yes genius Indian dude, that is exactly why our planes don’t crash and your Russian junk costing 4x as much is labelled flying coffins, 55% of sukhois fleet is available for flight operation due to engine overhaul requirement, and yes our fleet is junk.

Read Indian Auditor General’s report on state of India’s airforce fleet and you will know your auqaat.Recommend
