DI KHAN: A young man and a teenage girl were shot dead near Quraishi Morr on DI Khan-Bhakkar Road on Tuesday evening. Talking to The Express Tribune, a Gomal police official confirmed the killings. He said 25-year-old Abid Fazal and his 16-year-old cousin Anila were en route on a motorbike when unidentified assailants sprayed them with bullets. Both died on the spot while the attackers managed to escape. The official added the deceased belonged to Baluchan Wala area of the district’s Parowa tehsil. Police officials reached the spot and shifted the bodies to DI Khan District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital for an autopsy. The corpses were later handed over to the grieving families. Abid’s father Fazal Ali lodged an FIR against Anila’s brother Sameen Jan and his accomplices. Police said investigation is still under way, but initial reports suggested this was a case of honour killing.
