Sarwar took the decision on receiving complaints that Faryad had voted for a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) woman candidate for a reserved cantonment board seat. Faryad has been asked to explain his action to the party in a week.
Separately, speaking to a delegation of farmers, Sarwar said the government had failed to protect their rights. He said the PTI would take up farmers’ concerns at all forums, including the provincial assembly. He demanded that the government give interest-free loans to farmers.
Speaking to a delegation from Cathedral Church, Sarwar said government’s policies had forced the common man to stage protests to seek justice.
He said the PTI favoured protecting rights of minorities in accordance with the Constitution. “Empowering of all segments of society, including minorities, is essential to ensure stability in the country,” Sarwar said.
