A welcome consensus: PTI to form government in Swat

The decision was hailed by the officials who attended the moot

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is going to form the government in the district and all seven tehsils of Swat, stated a press release issued on Tuesday.


This was said by Minister for Irrigation Mehmood Khan during a meeting held on Tuesday at the hujra of District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) Chairman Swat Fazal Hakim Khan.

According to the press release, the minister said dialogue had been successfully conducted with various parties and independent councillors and PTI has gained a “comfortable majority” in all elected councils.

The decision was hailed by the officials who attended the moot.

“Participants at the meeting voiced satisfaction over the status of dialogue and partnership,” stated the release. Furthermore, it added all interests have been duly represented and the outcome is likely to be favourable, it added.

The meeting was also attended by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Mohibullah Khan, MNA Saleemur Rehman, MPA Azizullah Gharan, Chairman DDAC Fazal Hakim Khan, newly-elected tehsil councillor Baz Khan, among others.

If PTI manage to win the support of majority of Independents, it can gain simple majority and can easily form government without the support of PMLN,PPP, ANP, JI, JUIF which have formed an alliance
Ali | 8 years ago | Reply That would only be possible through horsetrading as PMLN is leading, and ANP with 3rd most seats is also supporting it in swat.
