Shiraz Uppal performs alongside AR Rahman

The tour, comprising 19 concerts, will include performances in various North American cities

KARACHI: The last time AR Rahman and Shiraz Uppal collaborated on a song, they produced one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2013 in the form of Raanjhanaa’s title track. Now Rahman and Uppal have collaborated again, this time for a series of concerts in North America —  AR Rahman North America Intimate Tour.

According to the Shiraz’s official Facebook page, the tour which comprises of 19 concerts will include performances in various North American cities. The Indo-Pak musical duo has already performed in Hartford, Toronto, New York and New Jersey. “The best audience so far in VA... Enjoyed every bit performing with AR Rahman and the band on the 7th show of the North America tour... Now on our way to Chicago for the next gig on 31st May,” said a facebook post.

Shiraz Uppal has been regularly posting updates and pictures from his tour on his Facebook page. Prior to his departure to North America, he had made a brief trip to Chennai, India to rehearse for the performances alongside AR Rahman.The tour started on May 21 and will conclude on June 16.

Recently, Uppal had lent his vocals for the titular track for Pakistan’s first animated feature-film, 3 Bahadur. Apart from that , he has also recorded a song, Ballay Ballay, for the upcoming Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan-starrer, Bin Roye, which also features Indian playback singer Harshdeep Kaur.
