Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court dismissed on Monday a petition pertaining to sacking and suspension of IGP Aftab Cheema and SSP Mohammad Ali Nekokara on grounds that it was not maintainable.
The IGP was suspended and the SSP dismissed from service allegedly for failure to use force against the protesters during last year’s sit-ins by PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek.
Four former IGPs Iftikhar Rashid, Afzal Shigri, Tariq Pervez and Shaukat Javed, had challenged the government’s order describing the disciplinary actions against the officials as “illegal”.
