PESHAWAR:
The leadership of Awami National Party held a protest in the city on Monday against the arrest of Central General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain and against alleged rigging in the local government elections.
Activists gathered at Sher Shah Suri Road outside Peshawar Press Club.
Addressing the gathering, party leader Bashir Matta, said, “He is one of the most senior and brave politicians of the country who has made many sacrifices for peace in the country. How can he take a life?”
Similar protests were also held in Mardan and Nowshera.
