Drowned: Five-year-old’s body found in canal

PESHAWAR: The body of a five-year-old boy, Sudas, was found in a canal in Budhu Samar Bagh area of Paharipura on Monday. “The boy went missing from Shahi Bagh when he was there for a picnic with his parents,” Edhi Foundation official Sher Gul told The Express Tribune. “The boy was missing for two days after which he was found dead in a canal.”  After being taken to Edhi Foundation, the body was shifted to Faqirabad police station from where it was handed over to the family. “His parents searched Shahi Bagh,” said Sher Gul, adding the boy might have died by drowning in the canal. Talking to The Express Tribune, Faqirabad ASP Furqan Bilal said the boy had fallen in a nullah and his body was recovered from Badhu Samar Bagh canal. He said it was just an accident of drowning. His family and the police had no doubts about it. “We were searching for the boy for the past one day,” added the ASP.
