KARACHI: The fourth session of the ‘I Am Karachi Talks’ was organised at the Preston Institute of Management Science and Technology on Tuesday. Ejazul Haq, the founder of the Organisation for Non-stop Empowerment (ONE), addressed the university’s students and urged them to stay away from political activities during the course of their studies. Haq, an aspiring actor, is a student of the National Academy of Performing Arts. “My family doesn’t support the idea of me becoming an actor, therefore, I earn bread and butter for myself while studying alone in Karachi,” he said. “I am hopeful that my family will be proud of my achievements in a few years.” Haq is also a social worker. ONE has been involved in various activities including peace awareness workshops, community outreach sessions and parent awareness programmes. It has also worked for the betterment of the community in areas such as Korangi and Landhi.
