KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman submitted on Monday an adjournment motion in the Sindh Assembly against ‘police officials’ who tortured journalists outside the Sindh High Court (SHC). The men, who were wearing masks, started to beat the cameramen covering the Zulfiqar Mirza case on May 23. A few cameramen sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. The police also snatched cameras and threatened journalists with dire consequences. Speaking to the media, Zaman termed the act as ‘police terrorism’. “I have requested the speaker to adjourn the upcoming session of the assembly and address this issue,” he said adding that his party has also started preparing for the upcoming provincial budget for the year 2015-2016 and will submit their proposals to the government.
