Pakistan opening batsman says selfies are his way of connecting with his fans

Selfie King Ahmed Shehzad went off on a rant on Twitter against those who have criticized his habit of taking selfies, saying his fans love him no matter what.

The batsman clarified that selfies were a way to stay connected with his fans.

He further substantiated his claim by naming American President Barack Obama.

Im born in this modern age where from Barak Obama to a school going kid everyone loves to take his selfie so why not me ;) #FansAreInHeart

The Pakistan opening batsman went on to thank his fans for always supporting him.

And he also had a name for his selfies.

Shehzad was criticised for putting up a selfie-show with Shahid Afridi before the 2015 World Cup where Pakistan team started off their campaign on a very bad note with two losses in their first two matches.

The cricketer continued his 'Shelfie' streak at the recent T20 match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe in Lahore, and it was captured on film:
