PARACHINAR:

A man gunned down his son on Friday after he discovered the latter had sexually assaulted a five-year-old girl in a village in Kurram Agency. The assailant has been identified as Iqbal Deen.

Residents and eyewitnesses informed The Express Tribune the girl belonged to Gawakki village and had been brought to Deen’s house by his 20-year-old son Yaseen Khan. According to locals, the girl was bleeding profusely when she was brought to the house.

Khan had told his father the girl had tripped and fallen in the forest and he had brought her to their house to recuperate. While she was at the house, Khan allegedly sexually abused the five-year-old girl.

A few days later when she returned home, the girl told her parents about the incident. As a result, her parents and relatives gathered outside Deen’s house. They asked him to either surrender Khan to them or kill him. Subsequently, Deen opened fire on his son, killing him on the spot.
