KARACHI:
Sindh chief secretary Muhammad Siddiq Memon met the visiting World Bank Mission linked to the ‘Second Sindh Education Project (SERP-II)’ and the ‘Sindh — Global Partnership for Education (S-GPE)’. The mission held a wrap-up meeting with the chief secretary, which was also attended by the Sindh education secretary, Dr Fazlullah Pechuho, and other senior officers of Sindh. The issues of Sindh school infrastructure education management reforms, procurement responsibilities, Reform Support Units, annual school censuses and teaching standards were discussed at the meeting. Memon asked the education secretary to deliver a comprehensive report on the status of the SERP-II and the S-GPE within a week. He also wanted a progress report on the free distribution of text books to students of primary and secondary schools.
