DI KHAN:


A man was killed and another injured when unidentified men opened fire at a local government election campaign in Lone village of DI Khan, said Kulachi police on Monday.


The deceased was identified as Gohar Khan Gandapur while the injured is named Haibath Khan.


Both victims were part of the campaign, said a police official on Monday. Gohar is the brother of Dawood Gandapur who is contesting for a district council member seat from Lone.


According to the police, the campaigners were attacked as soon as they emerged from a hujra. The culprits managed to escape after committing the crime.


Haibath Khan was taken to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan. Anwar Gandapur, the brother of the deceased, lodged an FIR with Kulachi police against unidentified assailants.


“We will investigate the matter, but it is still unclear who is behind the attack,” the police official concluded.
