HYDERABAD: A food supervisor from Dadu approached the Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Tuesday in a bid to prevent around 11.2 million kilogrammes of wheat from decaying. “The wheat at three procurement centres in Pyaro Goth, Kakkar and Thardi is awaiting transportation to the warehouses but the contractor is demanding a bribe of Rs30 per kg to shift it,” alleged Ali Asghar Panhwar, the petitioner, claiming that he had repeatedly informed food officials about the issue but to no avail. The court issued notices to the Hyderabad food deputy director, the Dadu district food officer and the transport contractor to submit a reply on June 3.
