Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher resume tweeting after helping to raise $1 million for Alicia Keys’ charity.

Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher have resumed using Twitter and Facebook after successfully helping to raise $1 million for Alicia Keys’ charity.

The pop stars agreed to sign off from all social networking sites as part of the Digital Life Sacrifice campaign, to raise donations for Keys’ Keep A Child Alive Foundation, contactmusic.com reports.

Celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest, logged off last week to mark World AIDS Day, and refused to return to tweeting and updating their Facebook pages until the target of $1 million was reached.

Twitter also helped Hayley Okines, a diehard fan of Justin Bieber to meet her idol after a campaign on the microblogging site. Bieber made the dream of a young British fan with the rapid ageing condition progeria come true by meeting her during his stay in London. “It was actually funny, she had no clue and when she first saw me she screamed,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Bieber as saying.
