The statement added that all such strikes were condemned and should be brought to a halt.
A US drone strike in the Shawal Valley of North Waziristan Agency on May 16 killed six suspected militants and injured several others, causing security concerns in the area at a time when operation Zarb-e -Azb is being carried out successfully with the aim to eradicate terrorism from the country.

"These generate distrust among the local populace at a time when Operation Zarb-e-Azab is moving ahead decisively," the statement further revealed.
Further, while reiterating their call for a cessation of such strikes, the ministry added that "The focus of the Government is currently shifting towards rehabilitation of the civilian population."

Separately, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said on March 26 that close synergy among the armed forces in Operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the back of the terrorists.
Adding, “We are determined to continue joint efforts till revival of complete peace in the country.”
