QUETTA: The three-day anti-polio campaign scheduled to start on Monday (today) has been postponed in the provincial capital due to nonpayment to vaccinators for the past three months, sources in the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Quetta said. Three-day Short Interval Immunisation Doses (SNID) anti-polio campaign was scheduled for nine districts of Balochistan — Quetta, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Zob, Sherani, Nasirabad and Jaffarabad districts, targeting over 1.2 million children. However, campaign in the provincial capital was postponed due to the strike by doctors who lamented that the vaccinators have not been paid for the past three to four months. Official sources confirmed that campaign will not take place in Quetta. Senior official of anti-polio campaign have taken notice of vaccinators going unpaid and urged the provincial officials late on Sunday to devise a strategy to ensure that vaccinators are paid on time.
