QUETTA:
A police official was shot dead on Sunday when unidentified assailants opened fire on him on Quetta's Sariab Road, Express News reported.
According to police, heavy contingent of security forces was deployed in the area as soon as Khadim Hussain was killed.
"The miscreants used a 9mm pistol," confirmed the police authorities as they carry out investigation.
On May 14, an assistant police officer and two suspected militants were killed in an encounter in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area.

According to police sources, two suspected militants were also rounded up following the clash. Security forces reportedly seized a number of weapons from the unidentified assailants.
