Three dead as Rangers expand raids on militant hideouts in Karachi

KARACHI: At least three people were killed when Sindh Rangers conducted intelligence-driven targeted raids on suspected hideouts of banned outfits on the outskirts of Karachi late on Friday.

According to a statement from the Rangers spokesperson, as officials started a search operation in Gadap Town, terrorists resorted to firing.

Rangers personnel responded with heavy firing in which three suspected terrorists were killed. Officials claimed that they had also recovered weapons from the possession of the alleged attackers.

The dead bodies of the militants were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsies while their identities are still unknown.

There was no information on whether anyone was injured in the exchange of fire.

Later, officials said they had also launched a search operation in Shah Faisal area of Karachi.
