Tragedy strikes: Toy bomb kills two children

SUKKUR: Two brothers lost their lives in a bomb blast in Saifal Kolachi village of Ghotki Friday morning.  According to reports, 13-year-old Fida Hussain and his nine-year-old brother Wakeel Ahmed, sons of police constable Ghulam Nabi Kolachi, left their home to purchase groceries at a nearby shop. On their way they found a colorful tin box which went off with a huge explosion as soon as they rushed to pick it up. Fida was killed on the spot, while Wakeel was wounded. He was rushed to the Ghotki hospital where medics referred him to the Sukkur hospital due to his serious condition.  However, he succumbed to his injuries midway. According to explosive experts, it was a homemade device and weighed around one kilogramme. Constable Kolachi is said to be a gunman of the district and sessions judge Ghotki. Police are further investigating the incident.
