Opposition leader in Balochistan assembly was on his way to Quetta when an IED device exploded near his convoy

QUETTA: Leader of the Opposition in Balochistan Assembly and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) parliamentary leader Maulana Abdul Wasey escaped a bomb attack on his convoy in Pishin District of Balochistan on Friday.

According to a Balochistan Levies official in Pishin, Maulana Wasey was travelling to Quetta after attending a public gathering in Pishin when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded near his convoy in Rad Mulazai area of Khanozai.

Two vehicles in his convoy, including Wasey’s, suffered damaged in the blast, though no one was injured.

Levies Official in Khanozai Abdul Nafy told The Express Tribune that “Two vehicles were partially damaged in the attack but no one was hurt.”

No group had claimed the responsibility of the attack till the filing of this report.

According to sources it was remote controlled blast.

Condemning the attack on the leader of the opposition, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch has ordered the local administration to submit a report in this regard
