QUETTA: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) hearing the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case has granted permanent exemption to former president Pervez Musharraf from appearing in person on medical grounds. Terming the exemption conditional, ATC Quetta Judge Aftab Lone said that the former military ruler could be summoned by the court whenever required. Musharraf is the main accused in the Bugti murder case. Bugti was killed along with his comrades in 2006 in a military operation ordered by Musharraf, who was president and army chief at the time. The ex-army chief has never appeared in court during the entire legal process which has been in progress since 2009.

Mohammad | 9 years ago | Reply Raheel sharief should take Musharraf on board and make him as his special envoy and advisor for tackling the terrorism in Pakistan and restoration of Pakistani image internationally. I feel pity that Irfan Siddiqui is advisor to PM... and many more of similar caliber.

Fawad | 9 years ago | Reply O come on. Justice is blind but it shouldn't be stupid. Not a single person in Pakistan will believe Musharraf is sick enough not to be able to visit a court. This is just disappointing. And i thought our judiciary is independent.
