KARACHI: Tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi chinched his first title of the year, winning the ATP Challenger Tennis Championship along with his Dutch partner Robin Haase in Aix-en-Provence, France on Saturday.

Aisam and Haase beat America's Nicholas Monroe and New Zealand's Artem Sitak 6-1, 6-2 on red clay.

Earlier, the top seeds had defeated Britain's Colin Fleming and Jonathan Marray 7-6 (2), 6-3 in the semi-final.

It has been a tough year for Aisam who began the season with Serbian partner Nenad Zimonjic. But the partnership did not last.

At last month’s Estoril Open in Portugal, Aisam managed to reach the semifinals with Luxemburg's Gilles Muller.
