Faysal Qureshi pairs up with Naveen Waqar for 'Mol'

Faysal Qureshi plays yet another successful urbane bureaucrat

Just because Faysal Qureshi showed off his lighter side on Jeet Ka Dum does not mean that he is done playing powerful and intimidating characters on-screen. He will next be seen playing yet another successful urbane bureaucrat in Nadeem Baig & Momina Duraid’s Mol.

Mol, which will soon be hitting the airwaves, is the love story of two entirely opposite individuals. Starring opposite Faysal Qureshi is former VJ-turned-actress Naveen Waqar, who came to the limelight with her role as Sara in the blockbuster drama serial Humsafar.

Talking about his drama Mol Faysal Qureshi told The Express Tribune, "Mol is a very inspiring story about family and love. It suggests that true love is not just the fairytale way in which it is mostly portrayed in novels and the movies."

He added, "True love is about standing by each other through thick and thin. That’s when you realize someone’s worth in your life."

Earlier last year, rumors of Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan playing the lead roles in Mol had surfaced but the roles went to Faysal Quraishi and Naveen Waqar instead.

Faysal will be playing Sheharyar, an urban bureaucrat who was born and brought up in London. Describing his character, Faysal says, "Sheharyar is a very straight forward man who is not very expressive. He never interferes in anyone else’s life and does not appreciate others having any say in his life. He likes living on his own terms."

He added, "My character Sheharyar is somebody who I can relate to on many levels. He might not be very expressive, but he is fiercely loyal towards his loved ones. It is a very unique character and of course the total opposite of how the audience is currently seeing me in Rang Laaga," Faysal said.

Talking about his experience of working on Mol, Faysal said, "I had a great time working with seniors like Munawar Saeed and Nadeem Baig on this serial. Even though I have been a part of the industry for so many years now, I still learn something new after each project."

Commenting on how he expects his character to resonate with audiences, Faysal said, ‘"I am very hopeful. I have always been very choosy about my work, and associate myself with projects only if I strongly believe in them. The story of Mol is the reason I signed on for the project, and I am sure it will engage the audience."

The TV superstar is well known for the diverse characters he plays on screen. From a blind man to a ruthless businessman, he has done it all. Faysal is currently starring as the delightful Aashiq Hussain in Rang Laaga, a character that drives a Vespa embellished as a mini bus and has slicked back wavy hair and sports an impressive moustache.
