PESHAWAR:

A memorandum of understanding has been inked between Khyber Medical University and Islamabad-based NGO Association for Excellence in Medical Education to bring medical education experts together at a conference in Peshawar.

“The MoU is an important step towards the promotion of medical education on modern lines in the province,” said Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai on Thursday when the document was signed. “The conference will provide a platform for experts in the field to share their expertise with each other to benefit the public.”

The minister added the provincial government is making efforts to give full autonomy to all hospitals and medical teaching institutions in order to free them from political interference and thus grow professionally. He added all four hospitals in the province have been given autonomy and their board of governors have been notified.
