In court: SEPCO CEO obtains pre-arrest bail
He pleaded the court grant him bail before arrest
KARACHI:
The chief executive officer (CEO) of Sukkur Electric Power Company, Farmanullah, obtained protective pre-arrest bail from the Sindh High Court (SHC) for 10 days in relation to the electrocution of 11 passengers last month. The bench directed him to furnish a surety of Rs50,000 and surrender before the trial court within 10 days. Eleven passengers died after a bus caught fire when the low-hanging high-tension electric wires fell over it in Khairpur Nathan Shah, Dadu, on May 3. On Thursday, Farmanullah approached the SHC, stating that the police are trying to arrest him while he had nothing to do with the incident. He said he wanted to surrender before the trial court. He pleaded the court grant him bail before arrest.
