ISLAMABAD: The police have arrested a worker of the Pakistan Peoples Party who introduced himself as a senator while entering the Parliament on Tuesday, said a police official. Abdus Sami Sheikh, a resident of Sukkur, was arrested by the Secretariat police after he tried to enter the Senate posing as a lawmaker, said Abdul Ghafoor, the investigation officer of the case. The officer explained that Sheikh was going to meet the leader of the opposition in the lower house Khursheed Shah to seek his help in securing a job for his younger brother at a utility store in Islamabad. He said a case under Section 420 (fraud) has been registered and Sheikh was sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand. A day earlier, the senate chairman had suspended a sergeant-at-arms at Parliament for the security failure.
