Inmates’ Health: ‘Prison hospitals will soon be upgraded’

LAHORE: The Prison Department is set to upgrade its hospitals across the province. Inspector General of Prisons Farooq Nazir told The Express Tribune on Wednesday that diagnostic machinery worth Rs80.6 million would be purchased for the purpose in the coming days. These included 13 X-ray and 14 ultra-sound examination machines and four dental care units, he said. “Access to good healthcare facilities is a right of every citizen including prisoners,” he added.
