It was the hosts who won the toss, but decided to ask Pakistan to bat first.
Umar Siddiq departed early in the innings on a personal score of six and Pakistan were 22-1 when Amin joined Khurram in the middle.
The two players complemented each other well and ensured that they do not lose another wicket with the ball still being new. It was their 135-run second-wicket stand that gave Pakistan an upper hand on the day.
Their partnership was broken by Tharindu Kaushal as he trapped Khurram lbw on 82, which came off 128 balls with nine boundaries.
Thereafter, Amin, along with Ali Asad, accumulated a 51-run stand before Dhananjaya de Silve removed Ali, who scored a 56-ball 21.
However, Amin kept the scoreboard ticking from the other end with skipper Fawad Alam on the other. However, he was unlucky to get out on 99 to Kaushal after his 202-ball effort, laced with seven boundaries.
Ali Waqas was removed soon on nought by Dhananjaya. Fawad was unbeaten on 17 while Adnan Akmal was yet to open his account.
