Nepalese army chief says Kathmandu will remember Pakistan's relief efforts
ISPR says Gen Rana expressed his gratitude for support extended by Pakistan during recent earthquake in Nepal

Nepal Army Chief General Gaurav SJB Rana said on Sunday the people of Kathmandu will remember Pakistan’s relief efforts in the aftermath of an earthquake that claimed more than 7,000 lives.
“Nepal army chief has expressed his gratitude for whole hearted support extended by Pakistan and Pakistan Army during recent earthquake in Nepal,” the Inter Services Public Relations said in a statement.

The Nepalese army chief’s remarks came during his visit to Pakistan Army Field Hospital on Sunday.
General Rana met Pakistani relief workers and appreciated their efforts.
“He said Pakistan will be remembered by people of Kathmandu because doctors from Pakistan Army were present around the clock and they came with ample stock of medicines,” the statement added.
The Pakistan Army field hospital at Bakhtapur is reportedly the main source of receiving medical aid for the earthquake affected people of Nepal while Pakistani Army Urban Search and rescue teams are also carrying out rescue operations.

Last week, Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos along with European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides visited the Pakistan Army field hospital in Bhaktapur.
They praised the state of the art field camp and rescue and relief efforts by Pakistan Army doctors and Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) team.
