Indian sources said that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani told the Pakistani leadership that if they do not open up the road to India, they will deny Pakistan access to Central Asia.

"Pakistan wants to expect Afghanistan to be open as far as their access to Central Asia is concerned and it’s very natural for Afghanistan to expect from out Pakistan neighbours to open up," Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah said, while speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN.

"If Pakistan wants access to Central Asia, it must respond in kind," he said.
