
Mohammad Sajjad, who tasted his first defeat in his last game, beat Finland's Janne Hakkinen 4-1. He won the first two frames 78-8, 71-51 before Hakkinen hit back 82-55. However, the Asian number two stuck form again to win the next two frames 65-0, 75-26 to clinch the 4-1 win. He is now placed second in Group A behind Thailand's Noppadol Sangnil.
Sohail wins thriller
Sohail Shahzad rallied for a close 4-3 win over Cyprus cueist Anthony Brabin. After losing the first three frames 78-44, 101-25, 57-25, Sohail looked down and out. However, the Pakistani won the next frame 64-25 after which there was no looking back. He clinched the next frame 75-43 before outclassing Brabin 91-15, 73-0 to record his fourth win in five matches.
Sohail is placed third in Group H behind Netherlands' Roy Stolk and Alex Borg from Malta.
Imran clinches one-sider
Imran Shahzad won a one-sided contest 4-0 against home cueists Omar Alkojah to also register his fourth win in the tournament. Imran, Pakistan number one, had a close first-frame finish as he won 75-55. However, Alkojah disappointed the home crowd as he failed to put up a fight in the next three frames as Imran won 84-17, 67-20, 87-0.
Imran sits at third place in Group L with Vinnie Calabrese and Bobby Cruickshanks sitting at the number one and two position respectively.
