LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq has said that there was no mechanism for workers’ welfare in the country as the entire system was aimed at the protection of the elite. Addressing railway workers and coolies at Lahore railway station on the Labour Day, he called for an end to the exploitation of workers. The JI ameer said there was a need to ensure share of workers in industrial production, registration of people working in hotels, workshops, cottage industries and those working in houses and assuring they get minimum wages. Sirajul Haq had lunch with the coolies at the Lahore Railway Station and also addressed a workers rally at Shere Bengal Colony, Ferozewala.
