Formation of new provinces possible: Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said he is not against formation of new provinces through constitutional process.

In an interview for PTV News, Gilani said the government will talk to the people of Hazara to alleviate their grievances and work to resolve all issues through reconciliation.

The Prime Minister went on to say that all parties were consulted on the passage of the 18th amendment, and that NWFP was renamed after a consensus from all political parties. He lauded Benazir Bhutto for her sacrifice for the country.

Ali | 14 years ago | Reply The name should be neutral, neither in favour of Pashtoon nor Hazara people otherwise it will create more problem in the future just like Baluchi people claiming Baluchistan as the name suggests.

We pay taxes on salary, no taxes on agriculture, stock exchanges, real estate, services,no electricity, no proper conveyance infrastructure (thanx to CDGK for launching CNG buses), no equity / justice, no law and order NO ACCOUNTABILITY OF PUBLIC OFFICE HOLDERS, land-grabbing in full swing, no hit and run drivers caught, VVIP structure (next we'll have VVVIP's floating around), rampant gun culture, unregulated private security guards, no rapists are punished,(gang / minors).........WHAT IS GOING ON??? It pains me to see our ISLAMIC REPUBLIC going to pieces in all directions and Karachites, (goose that lays the golden egg)must say THANK YOU MUSTAFA KAMAL.

Waseem Khan | 14 years ago | Reply By the way division of provinces is also an effective tool to dispense off basic necessities to those areas which have been neglected. I think PM should go for division of Punjab in particular.

Hassan Malik | 14 years ago | Reply Solve the electricity, clean water, food and security problems and all other issues will fade away themselves. The country is malcontent from the lack of basic services and the failure of the state to provide those.

It is time for action not only thinking and planing. Otherwise Volcano is going to erupt unfortunately!
