I would like to request the authorities concerned to take measures to curb this menace
RAWALPINDI: Hardly a day passes now when we do not hear of an incident of robbery occurring in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Often, someone claiming to be a security official stops citizens — in most cases those leaving the airport, or coming out of a bank or a money exchange company — and rob them.
Given that the actual security authorities have completely failed in curbing this menace and have even acknowledged their incompetence by distributing pamphlets around the airport that such crimes are taking place and that citizens should be cautious. What should citizens do then? The rising street crime has created an atmosphere of fear in the twin cities. I would like to request the authorities concerned to take measures to curb this menace so that citizens can lead peaceful lives.
