5 suspected militants killed in Tirah Valley clash

Security forces advance into Toor Darra area, take control of key places

KHYBER AGENCY: Five suspected militants were killed in a clash with security forces on Friday in Tirah Valley, Express News reported on Friday. 

According to sources, security forces clashed with militants in Toor Darra where army has taken control of key areas.

Earlier on April 30, army claimed to have killed 27 suspected militants in the valley. Army too suffered casualties, losing five soldiers including Captain Ajmal.

While on April 16, militant group Islamic State’s commander-designate for Pakistan Hafiz Muhammad Saeed was allegedly killed along with two others in an explosion in the Toor Darra area.

Khyber Agency officials said the militants were planting or manufacturing an improvised explosive device (IED) when it went off, killing the three men on the spot.
