The maps shows the most-Googled for object in each country, using the autocomplete formula of "How much does * cost in [x country]." The results are far from scientific since Google’s autocomplete results vary based on the searcher's history, the time of search, and the place of search but they do provide insight on how certain countries are perceived.
The results varied greatly from region to region. In India, the cost of cows topped the search, while people in Pakistan seemed overly concerned about the cost of weddings.
People were most interested in the cost of passports in North America whereas beer and living options were the main concerns in South American countries. In Russia, ‘flying a MiG’ - a supersonic aircraft – turned out to be the most common search in the given criteria.
